OAK
A broad, leafed tree, ten or twelve or thirteen pointed leaves:
An Emergent hand to catch sun’s energy…
He carries a loaded ecosystem across millennia.
And emerges in Indo-European toponymy
from Derry to Dubrovik, from Dębica to Craigdarroch…
Cut him through to expose cambium, medullary rays.
The porous vessels for sap and strength.
Reach through his bark, quercus for cork.
